After years of major construction, the newly built Morrison Gallery has opened its doors to art patrons waiting to glimpse this minimalist and architecturally distinctive museum-like space. Known for exhibiting the work of contemporary luminaries and modern masters, Morrison Gallery has entered a new phase in its long history. The new gallery in Kent, CT represents the pinnacle of William Morrison’s lengthy career in the art world.
 
Newly located at 60 North Main Street in Kent, Morrison Gallery’s post-modernist exterior merely hints at the massive museum-like space inside. With extraordinary attention to detail, the new gallery was intentionally designed to exhibit large modern and contemporary art, along with monumental sculpture,  all passions of owner and founder,  William Morrison.
 
One enters the new 6,000 square foot gallery through massive glass doors cleverly designed to open accordion style for bringing in large art works. The doors flood the gigantic main gallery with natural light, illuminating the space that measures impressive 100 foot long walls with a soaring 22 foot high ceiling. This grand gallery is designed to offer carefully curated exhibits of paintings and sculpture. Outdoor art will be displayed on Morrison’s grounds, with monumental sculptures featured on the expansive lawn.
 
Morrison Gallery represents prominent and important artists, and takes pride in discovering artists from overseas. He now represents artists from London, Paris, Nigeria, China, Australia, New Zealand, and Dubai. His international artists include Canal Jagerroos, Martin Smith, Marc Rayner, Damien Beneteau, Stefan Wiens, Olalekan Odunbori , Jung Jisook, and many others. His stable of new artists from the US includes Ted Collier, Michelle Weddle, Christopher Curtis and Tim-Nerheim Chereck. Morrison also represents Artist’s Estates such as George Sugarman, Alexander Liberman, Kenneth Snelson, Clement Meadmore, Edward Dugmore, Kyohei Inukai, Raymond Spillenger, and Christopher Armstrong.
 
This current exhibition introduces many of these new artists and estates. New works will be rotated throughout the Summer and Winter months of 2024.
 
In addition to traditional gallery exhibitions, Morrison offers additional services to artists and exhibitors alike. in 2022, Morrison opened a unique state-of-the-art storage facility adjacent to the new gallery.  MASF  (Morrison Art Storage Facility), the newly built two-story building was built specifically for the purpose of art storage, in a safe, secure, climate-controlled environment.
